Rihay is a colt born in the stable of Ubay, one of the richest men in the city of Mecca. Rihay goes to collect flowers for her mother’s birthday and gets a nasty surprise on her return. When Rihay learns that her mother has been sold to a merchant from Medina, and that she herself will be sold to a merchant from Damascus, she becomes enraged. Not wanting to leave her mother, Rihay runs away and tries to find her mother.
