On February 23, 1921, our soldiers, who were captured by the Russians during the 1st World War and spent 6 years in prison camps, set sail for their homeland on the Heimei-Maru ship. The commander of the ship was Japanese Lieutenant Colonel Yukichi Tsumura. Heimei-Maru was stopped by a Greek warship off the coast of Lesbos. And the soldiers reached Istanbul on June 25, 1922. Mustafa Dokur, the son of one of the soldiers on board, is looking for documents about his father. He has nothing but a faded photograph and a notebook.
