The series, which depicts the intrigue-filled and secretive lives of the Şakir Pasha family, who lived a life ahead of its time, begins in 1912. The return of Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, who brought Bodrum to its current fame with his work as the Fisherman of Halicarnassus, to his family’s home on Büyükada with his Italian wife would radically change everyone’s lives. This transformation would not only impact the era in which it occurred; it would also lead to the emergence of such accomplished figures from the family as Princess Fahrelnissa Zeid, a master of modern painting, Aliye Berger, the first Turkish engraver, and Füreya Koral, the first Turkish ceramic artist.
