The film takes place in Afghanistan, under the oppression of the Taliban regime. A woman named Layla, the sole survivor of her family’s massacre, sets out to search for her son, Omid. However, due to social oppression in Afghanistan, it’s too dangerous for a woman to walk the streets. So, Layla devises a solution: she disguises herself as a man, grows a beard, and wears her husband’s clothes.
